Castleford Tigers’ in-form winger Justin Carney is facing the threat of a third suspension of the season.

The 30-year-old Australian, who is in his first season in Super League after joining the Tigers from Sydney Roosters, has already missed four matches and is in danger of missing at least two more after being ordered to appear in front of the Rugby Football League's disciplinary committee tomorrow charged with foul play.

Carney, who has scored seven tries in his last five games, was given a two-match ban in March after being cited for punching and served another suspension in April after being found guilty of a dangerous throw.

He has now been accused of another dangerous throw on London Broncos forward Shane Rodney during Castleford's 30-30 draw at the Twickenham Stoop on Saturday.

The grade C offence, which carries a ban of between two and three matches, was brought by the RFL's match-review panel, which issued a formal caution to Wakefield Trinity Wildcats forward Taulima Tautai for making dangerous contact with Wigan full-back Sam Tomkins in yesterday's 36-23 defeat by the Warriors.
