Poore warned over tackling technique

Wakefield prop Justin Poore has been warned over his tackling technique after being put on report for an ugly-looking challenge on Hull FC full-back Shannon McDonnell in the Trinity Wildcats' 27-26 win at the KC Stadium last night.

Hull coach Peter Gentle had expected the Australian forward to be banned after describing the tackle as "disgusting" and claiming it was fortunate that "Shannon is not in the spinal unit".

The Rugby Football League's match-review panel decided the incident did not merit a charge but issued the player with a caution.

Poore, who has been sent off twice in his first season in England, will be free to play for the Wildcats against Widnes Vikings next Monday.
