The Robins have confirmed that Sam Latus has been released with immediate effect to allow him to sign for another club for the remainder of the season.
A product of Rovers’ academy system, Latus made his senior debut in a 16-16 draw at Huddersfield back in 2010 and went on to make a total of 38 appearances for the club, scoring 14 tries.
The 23-year-old has found first team action hard to come by this season and club CEO Mike Smith commented:
“Sam has been a great servant to the club and a consummate professional at all times. He hasn’t figured as much as he’d have liked in the first team this year and both parties felt Sam probably needs a fresh start.
“We’ve agreed to release him from his contract now so that he has the best possible opportunity to find a new club. On behalf of everyone at Hull KR I’d like to thank Sam for his contribution to the club and wish him all the very best for the future.”
