Castleford Tigers have released former Wigan Warriors and Widnes Vikings prop Ben Davies, just a month after signing him to the end of the season.
The 24-year-old joined the Tigers for a second spell after being released by Widnes but pulled a hamstring on his first appearance against Hull FC and did not feature again apart from a brief substitute appearance against Huddersfield Giants last weekend.
He has now joined Championship club Halifax for the rest of the season.
Halifax director Ian Croad said: "Ben wants to come and prove himself to (coach) Karl Harrison. He had offers from other clubs but likes what he has seen here at Halifax and wants to be part of a club on its way up."
Castleford have also released former Leigh prop Steve Nash by mutual consent.
Nash, also 24, was signed from Leigh in 2011 and went on to make seven Super League appearances but has not featured this season and is expected to make a permanent move to Dewsbury, where he has been playing on loan.
"Castleford Tigers wish both players all the best for the future," the club said in a statement.
