Cahill charged by RFL

Widnes forward Hep Cahill is facing a potential two-match ban following his dismissal during the Vikings' 16-6 Super League derby win at Warrington Wolves last Thursday.

The former Melbourne and Crusaders back rower was shown a red card just before half-time after a late and high tackle on Warrington full-back Brett Hodgson.

Cahill was today charged by the Rugby Football League's match-review panel with a grade C reckless tackle and has until 11am tomorrow to submit an early-guilty plea or face a disciplinary hearing.

Leeds hooker Paul McShane has been charged with a grade B offence of a dangerous lift on Hull KR stand-off Travis Burns during the Rhinos' 16-12 home defeat and three players have been charged with punching during Huddersfield Giants' 26-12 win at London Broncos.

Broncos forward Matt Cook and Huddersfield duo Ukuma Ta'ai and David Faiumu have all been charged with grade A offences and are eligible to make early-guilty pleas and avoid any ban.

The panel also issued cautions to Willie Isa (Widnes) and Lincoln Withers (Hull KR) for foul play in matches during round 25.
