The Rugby League family throws open the doors this Saturday for the Tetley’s Challenge Cup Final at Wembley Stadium, and that invitation will be extended again this autumn at Rugby League World Cup 2013.

Both events transcend the sport and a massive number of new supporters are preparing to attend their first ever Rugby League match.

The game will pit Rugby League’s top four nations in the world against one another, and two finalists will emerge to march on Old Trafford for the Rugby League World Cup Final on November 30.

Challenge Cup winner and star of Wembley Martin Offiah says he is relishing the occasion, and believes that even more heroes will be created at the famous stadium this November.

“Wembley is a fantastic stadium. The old one ground has left a huge legacy and the new ground is already building one of its own and honouring that history,” he said.

“I’m always going to be linked with Wembley and the stadium will always have a special place in my heart.
“I enjoyed some good times there at club and international level and I played in a World Cup Final there in 1995. They’re all great memories.

“It’s an iconic stadium and hopefully it will be filled to the rafters for The Big Hit double-header semi-finals.”

And Offiah is backing England to rise to the occasion on home soil RLWC2013.

“England play Australia at the Opening Ceremony and England just have to deliver. It’s a huge milestone for England and for Rugby League.
“We saw what happened in 2012 with the Olympics, and the feel-good factor and publicity was driven by the success of Team GB.
“I don’t want to put too much pressure on the boys, as I know they will give it their all. I’ll be backing them all the way and I hope the rest of the country will be too.”
