Hull FC’s brand new home shirt has gone on sale to Black and Whites supporters in store and online ahead of the 2014 Super League season.
Hitting the shelves in time for Christmas, the new-look kit was unveiled in style at the city’s St Stephen’s shopping centre last night and is already proving popular with the Old Faithful.
A modern twist on the club’s classical look, it will see the Airlie Birds take to the field at the KC Stadium during Super League XIX in a predominantly black shirt emblazoned with a cluster of irregular white hoops across the chest.
Once again produced by long-term kit manufacturer ISC and featuring main club sponsor Minstergate Hyundai, the shirt was unveiled by skipper Gareth Ellis, vice-captain Danny Houghton and young try-scoring sensation Jamie Shaul, whilst X Factor star and Hull FC fan Ryan Mathie also performed at the launch.
With all of the club’s replica shirts last season once again selling out, Hull FC’s head of retail and operations, Lee Jenkinson, said he is expecting the new design to be just as popular with supporters.
He said, “I’m delighted with the look of the 2014 home shirt and with the way our manufacturer ISC has managed to get them across to us so quickly.
“The planning process for a new shirt begins as early as January and by getting on the front foot, we’ve been able to put our brand new 2014 home shirt on sale ahead of all our Super League rivals and well before Christmas.
“With the design, we’ve gone for something which we feel retains the values and traditions of a rugby league shirt but with a stylish element to it. Following extensive feedback from supporters, we’ve also improved the quality of the material and gone with a new style collar.
“In my 10 years at the club, it’s without doubt my favourite shirt design and I hope the Faithful share the same excitement. I look forward to seeing the KC Stadium filled with them at the start of Super League XIX.”
The new-look home shirt is priced at £47 for adults and £38 for juniors and is on sale now from the KC Stadium and Savile Street retail stores as well as online at www.hullfcshop.com
With demand expected to be extremely high ahead of Christmas, supporters are advised to buy early to avoid disappointment.
