Castleford Tigers half-back Jamie Ellis is hoping to be fit for the start of the 2014 Super League season despite tearing a pectoral muscle in training.

The 23-year-old former Leigh and St Helens player, who has spent the last two seasons with the Tigers, will undergo surgery on Saturday.

Ellis broke the news on Twitter, saying: "Just so people know, torn my peck in training, going in for operation on sat, should be back fully fit in 3 months."
