Huddersfield Giants hooker or half-back Kyle Wood has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.
The 25-year-old former Wakefield Trinity Wildcats player, who is one of only two ever-presents for the Giants this season, ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament during his side's 38-16 victory over Catalan Dragons on Sunday.
Huddersfield coach Paul Anderson said: "He has been one of our better players this season and has been a good 'go-forward' man for us. It is sad for him and disappointing for the club but we will rally round him and he will be back."
The Giants will also go into Sunday's game at Wakefield without England centre Leroy Cudjoe, who has a hip injury, but hope to have hooker Shaun Lunt back after a two-month absence with a nagging calf injury.
