Danny McGuire stole the show with four tries as Leeds Rhinos strengthened their play-off push with a 58-12 romp against London Broncos.

The Rhinos rose to sixth in the Stobart Super League table thanks to a 10-try display, six coming in the final 20 minutes of the contest.

The hosts had hoped to make it back-to-back wins at home, and were able to return the fit-again Michael Witt and Olsi Krasniqi to their line-up.

For the Rhinos, Jamie Peacock and Brent Webb both missed out with knee injuries.

Leeds were aiming to make it three successive wins after high-scoring triumphs over Wakefield Trinity Wildcats and Castleford Tigers.

However, the Londoners made the brighter start. Witt engineered a gap for Dan Sarginson only for the full-back to be hauled down just short of the line.

Leeds were the next to go close, having a try chalked off for an obvious forward pass.

The Broncos were having the bulk of the play, Scott Wheeldon coming close to giving the hosts the lead on 18 minutes, only to spill a pass near the Rhinos line.

Julien Rinaldi was once again proving influential for the men from the capital, and after a surging run took the hosts deep into Leeds territory, Chris Bailey rounded things off by storming over at the sticks in the 22nd minute.

The Rhinos were stung into action and responded with a try of their own within moments, Shaun Lunt crashing over from close range to level things up.

Lunt pushed Leeds into the lead in the 31st minute, barrelling over under the posts despite the attentions of three would-be tacklers.

The visitors had gone through the gears and suddenly the Broncos were dropping off tackles and being caught out defensively.

And before the break the Rhinos had stretched well clear, McGuire strolling over for a brace of tries on 37 and 39 minutes.

The hosts were in need of a lift, and they got it five minutes after the restart thanks to some shocking play from the visitors. Zak Hardaker’s pass went to ground, allowing Kieran Dixon the simplest of tasks of picking up possession and cantering over.

Suddenly the Broncos had their tails up, although they remained two scores behind.

London came mightily close to reducing that to one score in the 54th minute, David Howell unable to hold what would have been a try-scoring pass from Witt.

Having absorbed the best the home side could throw at them, Leeds took advantage of both Will Lovell and Craig Gower laying prone with injuries to run on the last tackle, Carl Ablett stretching clear to tee up McGuire for his hat-trick on the hour mark.

That seemed to knock the fight out of the Broncos, and moments later Ablett touched down for a try of his own.

Now it was a case of how many, and McGuire was soon at it again, cantering over for his fourth after a break from Jamie Jones-Buchanan.

Further late scores were to follow from Hardaker, Rob Burrow and Kylie Leuluai in the final eight minutes.
