Match Preview

St Helens hooker Dom Speakman is set to make his debut as a replacement for the injured James Roby. Captain Paul Wellens is fit again after a month’s absence with a calf injury but is likely to return at loose forward, with Tommy Makinson or Nathan Ashe taking the place of Jonny Lomax at full-back. Saints are also boosted by the return from injury of front-row forwards Josh Perry and Tony Puletua.

Salford City Reds are without three first-choice front-row forwards after Lee Jewitt (flu) and Vic Mauro (knee injury) joined Shannon McPherson on the sidelines. Winger Danny Williams is back from a quad injury to take the place of loan signing Jack Murphy and utility back Ryan McGoldrick stands by to replace centre Martin Gleeson if he fails to overcome a knee injury.
