Kavanagh commits to Widnes

7th May 2014

Scotland forward Ben Kavanagh has become the eighth Widnes Vikings player in the last month to sign a new contract.

Kavanagh, 26, who has made 148 appearances since joining the Vikings from Wigan Warriors in 2008, has signed a new two-year deal.

Widnes coach Denis Betts said: "Ben's been in our thoughts throughout the process of signing and retaining players. He's a player who has established himself in the Scotland squad and he had a great World Cup but also there's still a lot of potential in him."

Kavanagh's team-mates Eamon O'Carroll, Stef Marsh, Paul Johnson, Phil Joseph, Liam Carberry, Lloyd White and Ben Galea have all recently extended their contracts.
